Network Backbone

The Hosting365 backbone comprises multiple optical fibre links routed to various destinations
throughout Europe and the US, peering with Tier 1 Internet providers. Hosting365 is carrier
neutral and provides multiple choices from diverse fibre providers allowing redundant fibre
connections out to the Internet. Fibre from these diverse vendors is routed via diverse physical paths into the Hosting Facility. In this way, Hosting365 eliminates any single point of failure between Hosting365 and the Internet.

Our Network was designed from the ground up with the primary goal of providing 100% availability of the Internet to your equipment. This goal is obtained through multi-homing, BGP-4 and 4 layers of redundancy.

Layer 1 - Multiple Tier-1 ISPs and Peering Exchanges

Layer 2 - Diverse local loop providers connect us to each ISP and other Datacentres at Layer 2

Layer 3 - Fully Redundant, entirely Cisco Powered Network Mesh

Layer 4 - Use of HSRP (Hot Standby Routing Protocol) to provide physically redundant Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet connections from access layer switches to your equipment cabinet.

Local loop connections are provided by a variety of Local Carriers. We utilize four or more of these Local Carriers in the Internet data centre at all times, ensuring the local loop has no single point of failure.

The network runs on a completely redundant, end-to-end Cisco Powered Network utilising Cisco 7206 VXR and 7606 GSR Border Routers with Cisco 6509 Catalyst Switches in the Distribution and Access Layers. You are assigned to a unique Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN). Depending on your requirement and deployment different network connectivity options are available with Gig-E (1Gbps) over UTP provided as standard.

Network Security & Monitoring Features

The hosting365 network is monitored 24/7/365 both from our Headquarters NOC in Park West, Dublin, Ireland and our secondary NOC in Krakow, Poland. Utilising out of bounds management best practice, both locations can identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues at any time.

Staffed by an extensive team of fully Cisco certified staff, ranging from CCNA. CCSP, CCNA and CCIE on a 24/7 basis, we can react to threats and issues as they arise.

Netflow Logo Netflow analysis allows a real-time overview of all inbound and outbound traffic, broken down by source and destination and traffic type. This allows attacks, compromises and unusual traffic levels or types to be immediately located and diagnosed.

In addition to extensive monitoring and throttling / filtering capabilities provided by our high-specification Cisco router mesh, we deploy TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention clusters for specific Services.

TippingPoint TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) delivers the most powerful network protection in the world. TippingPoint is an in-line device that is inserted seamlessly and transparently into the network. As packets pass through the IPS, they are fully inspected to determine whether they are legitimate or malicious. This instantaneous form of protection is the most effective means of preventing attacks from ever reaching their targets.
